Asha Laghubitta’s Profit Surges More Than Fourfold

Asha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited has reported a remarkable improvement in its financial performance in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. According to its unaudited financial statement, the company earned a net profit of NPR 125.5 million by mid-Poush, representing a massive growth of 431.55 percent compared to the same period last year. In the previous fiscal year, the company had recorded a profit of NPR 23.6 million. The significant rise in net interest income, which increased by nearly 14 percent to NPR 387.4 million, played a key role in boosting profitability.
During the review period, the company’s total operating income rose from NPR 408.5 million to NPR 474.4 million. As a result, operating profit surged from NPR 33.6 million to NPR 179.1 million. Earnings per share increased from NPR 6.45 to NPR 31.29, while the non-performing loan ratio climbed from 4.92 percent to 10.15 percent. The company’s net worth per share stands at NPR 158.08, and its price-earnings ratio is 37.23 times. Currently, Asha Laghubitta has a paid-up capital of NPR 802.6 million, total assets exceeding NPR 11.74 billion, loan disbursement of NPR 10.81 billion, and deposit collection of NPR 3.56 billion.
