Gold and Silver Prices Drop Sharply, Gold Falls to NPR 300,000 per Tola

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, the Nepali bullion market witnessed a sharp decline in the prices of gold and silver. On this day, the price of gold dropped by NPR 18,800 per tola, while silver fell significantly by NPR 1,565 per tola. The continuous decline over the past two days has drawn attention from investors and consumers alike.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold is being traded at NPR 300,000 per tola on Sunday. Just last Friday, gold was traded at NPR 318,800 per tola, indicating a substantial correction in a short period. Market experts suggest that this decline reflects price adjustment following recent record highs.

Similarly, silver prices have also recorded a notable fall. On Sunday, silver is being traded at NPR 5,500 per tola, down from NPR 7,065 per tola last Friday. Analysts attribute the sharp decline to fluctuations in the international market and weakening local demand.
