NEPSE Index Closes Higher with Trading Volume Above NPR 9 Billion

On the last trading day of the week, the NEPSE index closed with a moderate increase. Following a minor correction on the previous trading day, Wednesday, the NEPSE index ended higher on Thursday, rising by 9.23 points to reach 2714.61. Additionally, the float index increased by 0.66 points, while the sensitive index decreased by 0.47 points, and the sensitive float index dropped by 0.14 points.
Along with the NEPSE index, the total trading volume also saw an increase. On Wednesday, the market witnessed a total trading volume of NPR 8.92 billion, while on Thursday, the trading volume reached NPR 9.07 billion, with a total of 190.75 million shares traded across 94,174 transactions involving 332 stocks.
On Thursday, four stocks saw trading at positive circuit levels. These included the shares of SY Panel Nepal, Trishuli Hydroelectric Company, Srinagar Agritech Industry, and Corporate Development Bank. In addition, the share price of Excel Development Bank rose by approximately 10%, and the share price of Rawa Energy Development increased by 9%. However, the share price of Kalika Power Company dropped by the largest margin of 6.25%.
In terms of transaction volume, the highest trading amount was recorded by Ankhu Khola Hydroelectric Company, with shares worth NPR 408.2 million traded. Manjushree Finance followed with nearly NPR 360 million in share transactions, while SY Panel Nepal had shares worth around NPR 330 million traded.
Among the 13 sub-indices, 10 showed an increase while 3 experienced a decrease. The finance sub-index saw the highest growth, increasing by 2.38%. Other sectors, including development banks, hotels & tourism, and manufacturing & processing, experienced gains of more than 1%. However, the trading sub-index recorded the largest drop, decreasing by 1.15%.
