NEPSE Index Experiences Minor Correction as Trading Volume Increases

On the second trading day of the week, the NEPSE index experienced a minor correction. After a significant rise in the previous trading day, short-term investors took the opportunity to secure profits, leading to a moderate decline. On Monday, the NEPSE index dropped by 3.07 points, settling at 2,769.09. The Sensitive Index decreased by 1.65 points, while the Float Index fell by 0.21 points and the Sensitive Float Index dropped by 0.52 points.

Despite the decline in the NEPSE index, the trading volume saw an increase. On the previous day, Sunday, the total trading amount was NPR 13.78 billion, but on Monday, the total trading reached NPR 16.35 billion, with a total of 362.64 million shares traded. Five stocks reached the positive circuit level, including SY Panel Nepal, Himstar Energy Company, Sanvi Energy, Sapta Koshi Development Bank, and Mountain Hydro Nepal. Additionally, the share price of Corporate Development Bank increased by around 10%, while the share price of Trade Tower rose by over 9%. On the other hand, the stock prices of the declining stocks saw a drop of less than 4%.

In terms of trading volume, Himalayan Power Partner topped the list with shares worth NPR 659.3 million. Akhuko Khola Hydroelectric Company also saw shares worth over NPR 560 million traded, while Manjushree Finance traded shares worth more than NPR 520 million. Among the 13 subgroups, 4 showed an increase in their indices, while 9 subgroups saw a decline. The hotel and tourism subgroup index saw the highest increase of 1.67%, while the indices for hydropower, manufacturing, and mutual funds experienced a modest rise.
