Samling Power Company Limited has published its unaudited financial report for the fourth quarter of FY 2081/82. According to the report, the company earned a net profit of NPR 3.86 million. In the same period last fiscal year, the company had suffered a loss of over NPR 37.17 million. This quarter, the company reported an earnings per share (EPS) of NPR 1.76, a significant improvement from the negative EPS of NPR (0.45) in the previous quarter.

As of the end of the fourth quarter, the company’s total revenue stood at NPR 225.86 million, which is a decline compared to the previous year. The company incurred NPR 2.49 million in cost of sales and over NPR 112.81 million in total operational expenses, including amortization and administrative costs. The profit turnaround is mainly attributed to cost reduction and improved financial flow after resumption of operations.

As per the financial statement, the company’s total assets have reached NPR 2.15 billion, while total liabilities have crossed NPR 2.01 billion. The company’s share capital remains at NPR 500 million, and its reserve and surplus have reached NPR 39.21 million. The net worth per share stands at NPR 107.84 and the market price at NPR 538.17.

The company has stated that due to continuous rainfall and flooding in Eastern Nepal, damage occurred to the 132 kV transmission line in Ashad 2081, halting production. Power generation resumed from Kartik 19, and during the shutdown, the company lost estimated revenue of NPR 40.33 million. This disruption posed a significant operational challenge.

The Board of Directors has reaffirmed its commitment to good corporate governance through policies including financial administration and human resource management. However, the company has not clearly stated any plans for expansion or new projects. Overall, the Q4 financial report shows that the company is recovering from previous setbacks, but sustaining profitability in the future remains a challenge.
