Finance Ministry Begins Preparation for Next Year's Budget Implementation

The Ministry of Finance has officially begun preparations for the implementation of the upcoming year's budget. A meeting held at the ministry discussed coordinating between policies, programs, budgets, and milestones to create a working plan for smooth execution.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Prasad Paudel directed that preparations for procurement related to the various programs and projects included in the budget be accelerated. He emphasized that by preparing in advance, agreements could be made swiftly once the budget is approved, thus ensuring faster work progress.
Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal clarified that there was no need for additional legal provisions to proceed with the procurement process, as per the budget provisions. He suggested that the process should move forward with the preparation of the listed projects. The meeting also discussed the need to focus on increasing capital expenditure for the current fiscal year.
Finance Secretary Ghanashyam Upadhyaya assured that the ministry would expedite the facilitation process for projects that have secured funding and completed documentation. He also mentioned that for projects ready for facilitation, the ministry would work on holidays and Saturdays to ensure timely progress.
The meeting was attended by the secretaries of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, and Ministry of Drinking Water, among others.
