NEPSE Index Experiences Minor Correction as Trading Volume Increases
The NEPSE index experienced a minor correction on the second trading day of the week. After a strong gain in the previous session, short-term investors took profits, causing a slight dip. On Monday, the NEPSE index dropped by 3.07 points, settling at 2,769.09. The trading volume, however, increased, with a total value of NPR 16.35 billion in shares traded, compared to NPR 13.78 billion on Sunday. Five stocks hit the positive circuit breaker, including SY Panel Nepal, Himstar Energy, Sanvi Energy, Sapta Koshi Development Bank, and Mountain Hydro Nepal. The stock price of Corporate Development Bank rose by nearly 10%, and Trade Tower shares climbed by more than 9%. Among the 13 subgroups, four saw positive growth, with the hotel and tourism subgroup leading the way with a 1.67% increase.
