Gold Price Hits New Historic High, Silver Also Rises

Kathmandu, April 10, 2025 - The price of gold in the local market has soared to a new all-time high. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Federation, the price of gold surged by Rs 5,700 per tola today, reaching Rs 181,100 per tola, marking a historic record.
On Wednesday, the price of gold had increased by Rs 2,000 per tola, settling at Rs 175,400. Earlier, on Chaitra 21 (April 3), gold had hit a previous record of Rs 180,300 per tola. After declining gradually in the days that followed, the price has now spiked significantly again.
Alongside the rise in gold prices, silver has also seen an uptick. The federation reported that silver is being traded at Rs 1,900 per tola today, up from Rs 1,835 per tola on Wednesday.
The sharp increase in the prices of both gold and silver has stirred activity in the market, with traders and consumers expressing curiosity about the factors driving this surge.
