Shrijanshil Laghubitta Posts Strong Profit in Q4, Significant Improvement from Last Year’s Loss

Shrijanshil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. has published its unaudited financial statement for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2081/82, reporting a strong turnaround in performance. The company posted a net profit of NPR 21.13 million in the review period, a significant improvement compared to a loss of NPR 10.32 million in the corresponding period last year.

The remarkable profit growth was driven by improved cost efficiency and lower operating expenses. Total operating income stood at NPR 68.69 million, while operating profit reached NPR 30.55 million. Interest income during the period amounted to NPR 114.95 million, with interest expenses at NPR 52.67 million, resulting in a net interest income of NPR 6.28 million.

As of Ashadh-end 2082, total assets increased to NPR 3.08 billion from NPR 2.34 billion a year ago. Customer deposits rose to NPR 846.90 million, while borrowings stood at NPR 1.06 billion. The company’s reserves climbed to NPR 374.43 million, strengthening its capital base.

In terms of key financial ratios, Earnings Per Share (EPS) surged to NPR 41.25 from NPR 12.84 last year. The capital fund to risk-weighted assets ratio stood at 14.67%, Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio at 5.56%, and Base Rate at 14.46%. The cost of fund was reported at 10.57%, while the interest rate spread stood at 5.67%.

The impressive turnaround highlights the company’s ability to improve profitability through prudent financial management, despite a challenging market environment.
