NEPSE Sees Modest Gain as Turnover Declines

On the last trading day of the week, Thursday, the NEPSE index closed with a slight gain after a sharp decline in the previous session. The index increased by 5.82 points to reach 2,782.18. While the float index saw a marginal rise, the sensitive and sensitive float indices declined slightly. Despite the rise in the index, the total turnover decreased compared to Wednesday, with transactions worth over NPR 8.81 billion recorded across 328 stocks through more than 103,000 trades. Several stocks hit the positive circuit level, including Reliance Spinning Mills, Ridi Line Energy, and others, while Saptakoshi Development Bank and Shreenagar Agritech Industries posted notable gains. In contrast, Bhugol Energy Development Company recorded the highest decline. In terms of turnover, SY Panel Nepal led the market, followed by Ngadi Group Power and Himalayan Reinsurance. Among the 13 sub-indices, 7 recorded gains while 6 declined, with the trading and manufacturing & processing sectors showing the highest growth.
