Asian Life Insurance Reports 5.30% Profit Growth in Second Quarter

Asian Life Insurance Company Limited (ALICL) has published its unaudited financial statement for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the report, the company earned a net profit of NPR 263.5 million by mid-January (Poush end), which represents a 5.30% increase compared to NPR 250.3 million recorded in the same period last year. During the review period, net premium income increased by 11.40%, while net claim payments rose by 7.72%. Similarly, total income grew by 7.34%, whereas total expenses increased by 8.40%.
Despite the rise in profit, the company’s earnings per share (EPS) declined by NPR 4.18 to NPR 10.54 due to its inability to increase net profit in proportion to its paid-up capital. As of the review period, the price-earnings (P/E) ratio stands at 44.94 times, and net worth per share is NPR 128.73. The company has a paid-up capital of NPR 5.11 billion, with a share premium of NPR 109.9 million, disaster reserve of NPR 313.8 million, retained earnings of NPR 919 million, and other equity of NPR 94 million.
