Banking Offenses Lead Crime Statistics in Magh; 4,561 Cases Registered Nationwide

Kathmandu – According to the latest statistics released by Nepal Police, banking offense cases have emerged as the most registered category of complaints during the month of Magh. A total of 1,017 banking crime cases were recorded, accounting for 22.29 percent of the total cases registered nationwide, highlighting a growing trend in financial-related offenses.

Similarly, 563 cases (12.34 percent) were registered under offenses against public interest, health, safety, convenience, and morality. The data also show 494 suicide cases, 436 drug-related offenses, 380 accidental homicide (future life-related) cases, and 364 theft cases during the same period.

Out of the total 4,561 cases registered across the country, the highest number—1,337 cases—were recorded in the Kathmandu Valley. Province-wise data reveal 775 cases in Koshi Province, 704 in Madhesh Province, 573 in Lumbini Province, 388 in Bagmati Province, 367 in Gandaki Province, 258 in Sudurpashchim Province, and the lowest 159 cases in Karnali Province.
