The Election Commission has announced a TikTok video competition to promote voter education and election awareness ahead of the House of Representatives Election 2082. The initiative aims to use the popular social media platform to encourage youth participation and make the election process more inclusive and informative.
According to the Commission, participants must create original TikTok videos of up to one minute focusing on topics such as the election code of conduct, voting procedures, voter rights and duties, and the importance of elections. The videos must be posted on personal social media accounts and submitted to the Commission’s email by Falgun 17.
Among the submitted entries, the three videos with the highest number of views will receive cash prizes. The first prize winner will receive NPR 50,000, the second NPR 30,000, and the third NPR 20,000 along with certificates.
The videos should be message-oriented, creative, and feature original audio and performance. Priority will be given to content explaining proper voting methods, responsible candidate selection, compliance with election rules, and democratic values.
Each individual is allowed to submit only one video per topic, while group participation is also permitted. The Commission will retain the right to broadcast selected videos through its official social media platforms. The best entries will be evaluated and selected by independent experts in coordination with the Commission.
