The government has intensified its plan to strengthen digital governance by expanding online public services through the Nagarik App. According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, key services such as civil servants’ personal records, examination admit cards for Public Service Commission candidates, and No Objection Certificates (NOC) for foreign study are being prepared to be made available via the app. The Department of Information Technology stated that the system is currently in the testing phase and is expected to be fully implemented within a week. In addition, in coordination with the Nepal Engineering Council, processes are underway to provide engineers’ certificates through the app as well. With services like police clearance certificates already available, the government aims to transform the Nagarik App into a comprehensive “one-stop digital service platform.”
