NEPSE Closes Higher on the First Trading Day of the Week

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed higher on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, continuing the upward momentum seen since last Monday. The benchmark NEPSE index gained 19.27 points to settle at 2,674.20 points. Similarly, the Sensitive Index increased by 3.22 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index rose by 1.26 points and 0.95 points respectively. Market turnover also witnessed a significant rise compared to the previous trading session. While transactions worth Rs 4.17 billion were recorded last Thursday, Sunday saw trading of 13.19 million shares of 341 listed companies through 55,206 transactions, generating a total turnover of over Rs 5.64 billion. Shares of Salapa Bikas Bank and Reliance Spinning Mills hit the positive circuit level during the session. Barahi Hydropower Public recorded a gain of more than 6.5 percent, while NIBL Growth Fund units increased by 6 percent. Meanwhile, Him Star Energy Company registered the highest decline of 4.16 percent. In terms of turnover, Radhi Bidyut Company topped the chart, followed by Api Power Company and Manjushree Finance. All 13 sectoral indices ended in positive territory, with the Finance sector posting the highest gain of 2.22 percent, while the Trading and Others sectors also advanced by more than 1 percent.
