NEPSE Extends Rally for Fourth Straight Session, Closes at 2,654.93 Amid Declining Turnover

On the final trading day of the week, the NEPSE index closed slightly higher, continuing its upward momentum for the fourth consecutive session. On Thursday, the benchmark index gained 6.03 points to settle at 2,654.93. The Sensitive Index rose by 1.93 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.48 points and 0.62 points respectively.
Despite the rise in the index, total turnover declined compared to the previous session. While the market had recorded transactions worth NPR 4.45 billion on Wednesday, Thursday witnessed trades worth NPR 4.17 billion. A total of 10.53 million shares of 335 companies were traded through 44,204 transactions during the session.
Salapa Development Bank hit the positive circuit level, with its share price increasing by NPR 53.10 to close at NPR 584.50. Reliance Spinning Mills surged by more than 9 percent, while Him Star Energy Company advanced by around 6 percent. Notably, the decline in losing stocks remained below 4 percent.
In terms of turnover, API Power Company led the market with transactions worth NPR 326.8 million. Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company recorded turnover exceeding NPR 210 million, while SY Panel Nepal saw trading worth over NPR 150 million.
Out of 13 sectoral indices, nine sectors ended in positive territory while four declined. The Non-Life Insurance sector recorded the highest gain of 1.09 percent. However, Hotels and Tourism, Manufacturing and Processing, Microfinance, and Mutual Fund sectors posted marginal losses.
