Nepse Index Closes with Moderate Gain, Trading Volume Reaches NPR 11.1 Billion

On the last trading day of the week, the Nepse index closed with a moderate gain after a declining trend from the start of the week. On Thursday, the Nepse index increased by 8.97 points, reaching 2671.07 points. Similarly, the Sensitive Index rose by 1.51 points, the Float Index increased by 0.85 points, and the Sensitive Float Index went up by 0.56 points.

Along with the Nepse index, the trading volume also saw an increase. On the previous trading day, Wednesday, the market recorded a total trading value of NPR 8.69 billion, but on Thursday, the total trading volume reached NPR 11.1 billion with the trading of 277,808,000 shares across 337 stocks. The middle Bhotekoshi Hydropower Company's shares were traded at a positive circuit level, with the share price rising by NPR 28.50 to close at NPR 313.70. Similarly, Rasuwagadhi Hydropower’s share price increased by approximately 10%, and Khani Khola Hydropower saw a 7% rise. On the other hand, Kalinchok Darshan's share price dropped by 7.59%.

In terms of trading value, Ngadi Group Power topped the list with shares worth NPR 705.3 million being traded. SY Panel Nepal followed closely with around NPR 434.7 million in shares traded, while Ridi Power saw approximately NPR 420 million in trading value.

Out of 13 subgroups, 8 saw an increase in their indices while 5 experienced a decline. The Development Bank subgroup's index rose the most, by 1.18%. The Hydropower subgroup's index also grew by around 1%, while other subgroups showed a modest increase. The Hotels and Tourism subgroup's index dropped the most, by 1.65%, and the indices of the Microfinance, Life Insurance, Other, and Trading subgroups showed a slight decrease.
