NEPSE Index Gains on Tuesday, Market Closes at 2,851 Points

On Tuesday, the NEPSE index closed higher after declining over the previous two trading days. The index initially dropped below 2,800 points at the start of trading but later recovered to close at 2,851.09 points, registering a gain of 19.70 points. The Sensitive Index rose by 3.26 points, the Float Index by 1.24 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 1.02 points.Despite the increase in the index, trading volume declined. While approximately NPR 1.3 billion worth of shares were traded on Monday, Tuesday saw 339 stocks traded 137,857 times, totaling NPR 1.111 billion for 27.942 million shares.Shares of Reliance Spinning Mills, Bhujung Hydropower, Super Khudi Hydropower, Rizline Energy, and Hotel Forest Inn traded at their positive circuit levels. SuryaKund Hydro Electric’s stock rose about 10%, while many other stocks gained over 4%. On the other hand, the stock of Saptakoshi Development Bank fell the most, by 8.96%.In terms of trading value, Ridi Hydropower topped the list with around NPR 484.8 million in trades. API Power had about NPR 410 million, and NRN Infrastructure & Development exceeded NPR 375 million in trading value. Among 13 subgroups, 11 saw index gains, with the Production & Processing subgroup increasing the most at 1.94%. The Finance and Hotel & Tourism subgroups gained over 1%, while Mutual Funds and a few other subgroups experienced slight declines.
