NEPSE Jumps 57 Points to 2,772 as Turnover Crosses NPR 13 Billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a strong gain on Sunday, the first trading day of the week, closing sharply higher. After a modest rise in the previous session on Thursday, the market surged by more than 2 percent. On Sunday, the NEPSE index climbed by 57.55 points to settle at 2,772.17 points. Along with this, the Sensitive Index increased by 8.05 points, the Float Index by 3.92 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 2.82 points.
Market turnover also saw a significant rise during the session. A total of over NPR 13.78 billion worth of shares were traded through 133,529 transactions involving 331 listed companies, with more than 30.9 million shares changing hands. Shares of nine companies traded at their positive circuit levels, while Crest Micro Life Insurance and Nepal Warehousing recorded gains of nearly 10 percent each. In terms of turnover, Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company led the market with transactions worth NPR 435.9 million. All 13 sectoral indices ended the day in positive territory, with the Hotels and Tourism sub-index posting the highest gain of 3.35 percent.
