The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court against five individuals, including media operators and municipal officials, for misusing government funds through fake advertisement publications.
The case is related to the procurement of pesticide spray tanks for farmers in Ward No. 4 of Fatuwa Bijaypur Municipality, Rautahat, where payments were allegedly made without publishing any actual tender notice.
According to the CIAA, the procurement notice was falsely shown as published in Janasawal National Daily and Terai Post, but in reality, no such advertisements were published. The commission found that the officials and media personnel manipulated records to show fake tenders and misappropriated government funds.
The accused individuals include:
Shambhu Kumar Yadav – Then Acting Chief Administrative Officer
Naveen Yadav – Then Assistant Accountant
Ramji Bagale – Editor of Janasawal National Daily
Rupendra Patel – Publisher of Terai Post
Om Prakash Yadav – Representative of Terai Post
The CIAA stated that this was a deliberate misuse of public resources through collusion, as no tender process was actually followed, and funds were disbursed based on falsified documents.
The commission concluded that government funds were misused under the pretext of advertisement expenses, and hence, it has filed the corruption charges accordingly.
