Finance Minister Urges Chinese Investors to Expand Investment in Nepal

Kathmandu. Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has called on Chinese investors to increase their investment in Nepal, stating that the country offers a favorable and secure investment environment. Speaking at a Nepal–China economic cooperation program held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said the government has been implementing policy and structural reforms to attract foreign capital.

Minister Khanal emphasized the need for Nepal and China to work together in identifying new areas of mutual economic benefit and expanding bilateral cooperation through increased investment.

At the event, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, noted that Chinese investors have been gradually expanding their presence in Nepal. Highlighting the long-standing ties between the two countries, he said Chinese businesses are particularly interested in sectors such as industry, hydropower, energy, and infrastructure. He also reaffirmed China’s continued support for Nepal’s overall development efforts.
