Government Blacklists 12 Construction Companies and Suppliers

The government has blacklisted 12 construction companies and suppliers. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) issued a notice on Thursday, stating that these entities were blacklisted based on its decision made on Wednesday.

According to the notice, the companies were blacklisted under Section 63 (1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063. As a result, these companies and suppliers are barred from participating in any public procurement processes for a period ranging from six months to three years.

The blacklist includes complaints from 12 public entities, such as the Transport Infrastructure Directorate in Fidim, Panchthar; Nepal Telecom Central Office; the Roads Department in Chaurjahari, Rukum West; the Federal Roads Supervision and Monitoring Office; and the Nepal Forest Corporation. These entities had recommended blacklisting the companies due to violations and complaints.

This move by the government is expected to promote accountability and transparency in the public procurement process.
