Newly appointed Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Paudel, takes oath from the Chief Justice.

Dr. Bishwanath Paudel, the newly appointed Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, has officially taken his oath of office. On Wednesday morning, Jeth 7, 2082 (May 21, 2025), Dr. Paudel was sworn in by Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut at the Supreme Court. Following the oath-taking ceremony, Dr. Paudel is set to assume his responsibilities at Nepal Rastra Bank, confirmed by the bank’s spokesperson Ramu Paudel. Dr. Paudel was appointed as Governor on Tuesday through a decision of the Council of Ministers. As per constitutional provision, the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank must take the oath before the Chief Justice.
