Over Rs. 327 Billion in Loans Secured for Small, Medium, and Agricultural Sectors

Kathmandu — As of the end of FY 2082 Ashad, the Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund (DCGF) secured loans worth Rs. 327.42 billion provided by banks and financial institutions. These include loans to the marginalized and deprived sector, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the agricultural sector (including concessional loans disbursed under the government’s interest-subsidized schemes).

In comparison, at the end of FY 2081 Ashad, the Fund had secured loans worth Rs. 296.45 billion. This shows an increase of nearly Rs. 30 billion within one year.

According to experts, the rise in guaranteed loan amounts indicates improved risk management for financial institutions and enhanced access to credit for small businesses, agriculture, and disadvantaged groups.
