Several listed companies on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) have declared their proposed dividends for the fiscal year 2080/2081, combining both bonus and cash distributions. These announcements provide valuable insight into the financial health and shareholder return policies of the respective companies.
Himalayan Reinsurance Limited (HRL) has proposed a combined dividend of 4.74%, which includes a 4.5% bonus share and 0.24% cash dividend. This modest distribution reflects the company’s conservative approach in retaining earnings while still rewarding shareholders.
Similarly, Premier Insurance Limited (PMLI) has recommended a total dividend of 8.421%, composed of 8% bonus shares and 0.421% cash. This figure shows a steady commitment to maintaining shareholder value while reinvesting in business operations.
Nepal Insurance Limited (NIL) also made its dividend proposal public, offering 7% in bonus shares and 0.3684% in cash, totaling 7.3684%. The company’s focus appears to be on strengthening its capital base through bonus shares while maintaining some liquidity distribution via cash.
In contrast, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company (SALICO) has taken a different route, declaring a significant 15% cash dividend without offering any bonus shares. This move may appeal to investors who prefer immediate returns over long-term equity growth, indicating strong liquidity in the company’s reserves.
On the microfinance front, Samriddhi Finance and Microfinance Development Bank Limited (SMFBS) has proposed a dividend of 5.2632%, made up of a 5% bonus and a 0.2632% cash component. The relatively balanced structure reflects the institution’s growth ambitions while still recognizing shareholder interests.
These proposed dividends are subject to approval at each company’s upcoming annual general meeting (AGM). Investors and market analysts closely watch such declarations as indicators of corporate profitability, stability, and future growth prospects.
