Republic Day Celebrated Nationwide Today, Stock Market and Banks Remain Closed

Today, Nepal is celebrating Republic Day with various programs and events across the country. To mark the occasion, the government has declared a public holiday nationwide.

Due to the public holiday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) will remain closed for the day, and no trading activities will take place. Similarly, banks and financial institutions will also be closed. However, some banks will operate holiday counters to provide essential services.

In addition to Republic Day celebrations, the government is also scheduled to present the national budget for the fiscal year 2082/83 today. As per constitutional provisions, the budget must be presented in a joint session of the Federal Parliament every year on Jestha 15.

Today marks a dual significance — a day to honor Nepal's republican achievements and to unveil the government's financial roadmap for the upcoming year.
