Securities Board Meeting in Progress, Major Agenda to Grant License for New Stock Exchange

The Nepal Securities Board has scheduled a board meeting at 5 PM today. The meeting will discuss the granting of a license for a new stock exchange and the restructuring of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
Regarding the new stock exchange license, the meeting will deliberate on the report prepared by a study committee led by Chintamani Shivakoti, the director of Nepal Rastra Bank. The committee's report will be discussed for implementation, and necessary decisions will be made in the meeting.
Additionally, the meeting will discuss the long-awaited approval for IPO permits that have been delayed for some time. The meeting will also address the proposed amendments to the asset cleansing regulations, which are expected to be ratified.
The outcomes of this meeting are anticipated to enhance Nepal's capital market and accelerate the implementation of the new stock exchange.
