Vikas Hydropower Limited Opens First Phase of IPO from Today (Jestha 6)

Vikas Hydropower Limited has opened the first phase of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) from Jestha 6, 2082 (May 20, 2025). The company is issuing shares specifically for project-affected local residents and Nepali citizens working abroad.
The company received approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) to issue 49% of its issued capital — totaling NPR 44.54 crore out of the total NPR 90.91 crore — through the IPO. This translates to 44,54,596 units of ordinary shares.
Out of this, 909,101 shares will be offered to residents affected by the project, at a face value of NPR 100 per share. Among them:
363,640 shares are allocated to highly affected residents of Wards 4 and 5 of Dharche Rural Municipality in Gorkha district.
545,461 shares are allocated to residents of Wards 1, 2, 3, 6, and 7 of the same municipality.
Similarly, 354,550 shares have been reserved for Nepali citizens working abroad under the foreign employment quota.
Eligible applicants from both groups can apply for a minimum of 10 units and up to a maximum of 10,000 units of shares.
The IPO for project-affected locals will close as early as Jestha 20 and as late as Ashad 4.
For Nepalis working abroad, the application deadline is Jestha 20.
Additionally, the company has:
Reserved 70,910 shares for employees, and
177,275 shares for mutual funds.
The remaining 2,942,760 shares will be issued to the general public in a later phase.
The issue and sales management of this IPO is being handled by Prabhu Capital Limited.
Through this IPO, Vikas Hydropower aims to strengthen its financial foundation and promote public ownership in its hydropower project.
