Upgradation Work of Bhrabishe–Kodari Road on Arniko Highway Commences

Kathmandu – The upgradation of the Bhrabishe–Kodari section of the Arniko Highway has officially started. To repair the road damaged by monsoon rains, the Department of Roads secured a budget approval of NPR 2.37 billion from the Ministry of Finance. Road Division Chirikot completed the tender process and signed a contract worth NPR 1.34 billion with the construction company MS NS Galwa JV last Mangsir to commence the work.The 26-kilometer road section from Bhrabishe to Kodari will be upgraded to a double-lane road. Construction of essential structures for the double-lane is underway, particularly in landslide-prone areas where retaining walls and pavements are being built. According to Narayandatta Bhandari, Chief of Road Division Chirikot, the physical progress so far is 7 percent.MS NS Galwa JV director Gauri Upreti stated that the project is on track and will be completed on time if there are no obstacles. The contract was signed on Mangsir 1, and construction began on Mangsir 20. Upreti added that with no issues in material supply or other preparations, the project is expected to be completed within the scheduled timeframe.
