Fuel Prices Rise by Rs. 15 per Liter, Nepal Oil Corporation Still in Loss

Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products. Based on the price list received from India every 15 days, the corporation has decided to raise the price of petrol, diesel, and kerosene by Rs. 15 per liter. Following the adjustment, petrol now costs Rs. 202 per liter, while diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs. 182 per liter. However, the price of LPG gas remains unchanged. Despite the price hike, the corporation is still incurring a loss of Rs. 34 per liter on petrol, Rs. 120 per liter on diesel, and over Rs. 416 per cylinder on LPG. Even after the adjustment, the corporation projects a biweekly loss of approximately Rs. 11.71 billion.
