Mandakini Hydropower Limited Reports Moderate Growth in Revenue and Profit

Mandakini Hydropower Limited (MHL) has published its unaudited financial results for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the report, the company has seen a moderate increase in electricity sales revenue compared to the same period last year.

In the first six months of the current fiscal year, the company earned NPR 73.1 million from electricity sales, which is a 4.97% increase compared to NPR 69.6 million earned during the same period in the previous year.

Along with the growth in electricity sales, the company’s net profit also saw a modest increase. For the review period, the net profit rose by 0.89% to reach NPR 36 million. The total profit of the company increased by 6.13%. Additionally, the company’s financial expenses decreased by 13.42%, and total expenses dropped by 9.21%, indicating better cost management.

However, despite the moderate growth in profit, the company’s earnings per share (EPS) decreased during the review period. EPS fell by 45 paisa, reaching NPR 11.14. As of mid-January, the company’s net worth per share stands at NPR 112.66, with a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 55.45.

With a paid-up capital of NPR 647 million, the company has accumulated NPR 81.8 million in its reserve fund, which strengthens its financial position.

Overall, while Mandakini Hydropower Limited’s financial performance shows positive signs for the future, the company needs to focus on improving its earnings per share to maintain long-term profitability.
