NEPSE Falls by 27 Points as Stock Market Declines on First Trading Day

On the first trading day of the week, Sunday, the stock market closed lower as the benchmark index continued its downward trend. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the NEPSE index declined by 27.59 points to settle at 2,614.55 points, while the Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices also fell. Trading volume decreased compared to the previous session, with shares worth around NPR 6.69 billion traded through more than 72,000 transactions of 324 listed companies. Salapa Bikas Bank hit the positive circuit, while Reliance Spinning Mills gained over 9 percent. In contrast, Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower recorded the highest loss of the day. Based on turnover, Ankhu Khola Hydropower topped the chart, followed by Ridi Power Development and SY Panel Nepal. All 13 sectoral indices ended in the red, with the trading sector posting the biggest decline.
