Government to Prioritize Over a Dozen Key Projects in the Upcoming Fiscal Year

The Government of Nepal has announced plans to prioritize more than a dozen major projects in the upcoming fiscal year. Presenting the government's annual policies and programs before the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Thursday, President Ram Chandra Paudel outlined the key focus areas and reforms.

According to the announcement, the government will revamp youth-centered startup programs and give special attention to Generation Z. In the health sector, efforts will be made to balance the demand and supply of medical professionals, and the national health insurance program will undergo restructuring.

To promote agricultural commercialization and infrastructure development, coordination among federal, provincial, and local governments will be strengthened. Unnecessary structures will be dismantled, and priority will be given to expanding online services and implementing a paperless governance system. Strengthening balanced international relations also remains a key agenda.

The government plans to reinforce the federal democratic republic system and counter any activities against it. Constitutional amendments will be pursued to ensure political stability, while economic and social development will be guided through policy stability.

Development projects will be re-prioritized and managed according to clear timelines. Projects that are unlikely to be completed or are found flawed will be suspended or scrapped. Additionally, the government aims to address challenges in school education and promote entrepreneurship by reforming academic curricula.
