NEPSE Extends Gains as Market Turnover Crosses NPR 7 Billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index continued its upward momentum on Tuesday, closing higher for the second consecutive trading day. The benchmark index gained 9.93 points to settle at 2,649.30, following Monday’s positive close. Alongside NEPSE, the Sensitive Index rose by 2.31 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.71 points and 0.79 points respectively. Market activity also improved, with total turnover rising to over NPR 7.12 billion through the trading of 14.83 million shares of 334 companies in 88,362 transactions. Jivan Bikas Laghubitta recorded the highest gain of the day with a 9.97 percent rise in its share price, while Threestar Hydropower and Himalayan 80–20 also posted notable gains. On the downside, Ru Ru Jalbidyut Project declined by 8.41 percent. Based on turnover, Sy Panel Nepal led the market, and sector-wise, 11 out of 13 sub-indices closed in positive territory, with the Finance sub-index posting the strongest growth.
