NIFRA Launches Green Energy Bonds Worth Rs 5 Billion

Kathmandu – Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) has officially launched the issuance of its latest bond offering, “NIFRA Green Energy Bond 2088–89”, starting today, Jestha 18. The bank aims to raise Rs 5 billion through this green bond.

The bond, priced at a face value of Rs 1,000 per unit, will have a total of 5 million units available for subscription. NIFRA had received approval from the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on Baisakh 30 to proceed with the issuance.

Out of the total offering, 3 million units will be sold via private placement. The remaining 2 million units will be issued to the public, with 100,000 units reserved for mutual funds and 1.9 million units available for general investors.

This bond carries a 7-year maturity and offers an annual fixed interest rate of 6%. Investors can apply for a minimum of 25 units (Rs 25,000) and up to a maximum of 1 million units (Rs 1 billion).

The application window remains open until Jestha 21. If the issue is not fully subscribed by then, the deadline will be extended to Asar 1, as per the bank's notice.

NIMB Ace Capital Limited is serving as the issue and sales manager for the bond offering.

According to NIFRA, this green bond aims to channel investments into sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy projects, helping Nepal meet its long-term energy and environmental goals.
