Settlement of Sept 8 Trading Uncertain as CDSC Suspends Clearing Process

Kathmandu, Sep 16 – The settlement and clearing of share transactions carried out on Monday, Bhadra 23, has become uncertain. CDS and Clearing Limited announced that, under Regulation 28 of the Securities Clearing and Settlement Regulations, 2012 (2069), the settlement process for that day has been suspended until further notice.

The Stock Brokers’ Association of Nepal had formally requested CDSC to halt settlement, citing technical issues in the payment system caused by vandalism and arson during protests on Bhadra 23 and 24. These disruptions prevented the completion of payment obligations.

On that day, the stock market declined by 35.99 points, closing at 2,672.25. However, CDSC clarified that settlement for transactions conducted on Bhadra 22 was successfully completed without issues.
