Three-Member Task Force Formed for Reconstruction and Elections, NPR 100 Billion to Be Raised

Kathmandu, Sept 16 – The Ministry of Finance has formed a three-member task force to secure resources for the reconstruction of physical damage caused by the recent GenZ movement and to fund the upcoming elections. The task force has been assigned the responsibility of identifying and mobilizing necessary budget sources.

The members of the task force include Suman Dahal, Head of the Budget and Program Division; Dhaniram Sharma, Head of the Foreign Aid Coordination Division; and Uttarkumar Khatri, Head of the Revenue Management Division. According to the ministry, cutting allocations from small and fragmented projects will generate around NPR 100 billion. Earlier, newly appointed Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal had also emphasized that scrapping such scattered projects would save approximately the same amount.
