SEBON Employees’ Union to Resume Protest, Announces Daily Sit-in and Pen-Down Program
Kathmandu — The Employees’ Union of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has decided to resume its protest after stating that its demands have not been addressed. In a statement issued today, the union accused the board’s management of ignoring their demands and announced that protest programs will continue in the coming days.According to the union, the daily one-hour sit-in protest and pen-down program, which had been temporarily suspended due to the House of Representatives election, will now be resumed. The union’s executive committee has decided that the protest will restart from Falgun 28 and will be held every day from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.During the pen-down program, employees will remain present at the office but will halt all official work, effectively suspending daily operations. This may impact regular administrative and operational activities within the board. The union has urged SEBON management to initiate immediate dialogue and resolve the issues raised by employees. It has also warned that the protest will continue until their demands are addressed. The ongoing movement could potentially affect some administrative processes related to Nepal’s capital market.
